Hell on the NHS
This is a documentary following William Collins, who spent 36 years in Broadmoor, the hospital prison for the criminally insane, and who is now free. Broadmoor ‘treated’ him for Schizophrenia for decades when arguably it was the wrong diagnosis. This poignant story is told in part as a video diary of him adjusting to life on the outside and his reactions to the modern world that has changed beyond recognition since he was last a part of it. It also records his struggle to free himself from the mental health system. Above all, it shows him pursuing his dreams.
